Media literacy Seminar on Fact-Checking and Digital Safety by Vishvas News, Jagran New Media

We plan to organise a seminar on February 20, Monday from 11 am to 1 pm, which will include a session for the people of your esteemed institution. Attendance is free, and there are prizes for those who help spread the message of combating fake news and dis/misinformation. All participants will receive certificates.

Devika is a Fact Checker and Media Literacy Trainer with Vishvas News. With an extensive experience of 14 years in reputed media organisations like Zeenews, Bhaskar, News Nation, Microsoft News and Jagran, Devika intends to use her knack for adaptive technology to build the future of credible and progressive journalism in India.

Qualification:She is a Postgraduate (Masters in Broadcast Journalism) from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism, Bhopal and is pursuing Ph.D. in 'Artificial Intelligence and Indian Journalism' from Amity University, Noida

 

Abhishek Parashar is working as Deputy Editor at Jagran New Media and is associated with Vishvas News as a Fact-Checker. He has around 9 years of experience in digital media. His total experience in journalism is more than 12 years. He has previously worked with Press Trust of India (PTI-Bhasha), Business Standard (Hindi), The Economic Times, Catch News (Rajsthan Patrika), and News Nation Digital. Abhishek is a certified Google News Initiative (GNI) fact-checking and news verification trainer. He has been working as a trainer at ‘Sack ke Sathi’ which is the media literacy campaign against fake news/misinformation. He has expertise in data analysis and has spent half of his career as a business journalist.
