Summers are the time when students can learn new skills that they would not have got time to learn otherwise. Summer Internships give excellent opportunities for students to network and engage with professionals in their area of interest. The most important element of internships is that they integrate classroom knowledge and theory with practical application and skills developed in professional settings. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also proposed providing school students with opportunities for internships with local industries, businesses, and arts for their skill development. The policy also includes research internships at higher educational institutions to further improve students’ employability.

Keeping these things in mind, Delhi Metropolitan Education is offering a summer internship program to classes XI and XII of leading schools of Delhi NCR. The schools which are participating in the first batch are DWPS, Greater Noida, Kothari International School, Noida, Lotus Valley International School, Greater Noida (W), Mayoor School, Noida, and The Manthan School, Noida.

The internships offered are in workshop mode with lots of interactive activities. The topics covered in these workshops are Idea Generation, Idea Analysis & Sorting, Prototype Building, Elevator Pitch, Financial Goal Setting, Budgeting & Power of Compounding, Analysing Financial Statements (Balance Sheets and P&L Account), Avenues of Investment, Contract Drafting, Article Reading, CLAT preparation, Research Paper Writing, Management Games, Theatre & Photography Workshop. The sessions are on a pro-bono basis. 

The students at the end would be assessed based on their research papers, role plays, presentations of their ideas, communication skills, etc. The students would be getting the certificates at the end of the session.
